Life On The Edge
Madagascar, an island isolated for over 65 million years, is a sanctuary of extraordinary biodiversity, with species that exist nowhere else on Earth. However, this unique ecosystem is under siege. Over the last century, the island’s once-vast rainforests have dwindled by over 90%, leaving 70% of the remaining forest precariously close to the edge—within just 1 km of the forest boundary.
Life on the Edge is a documentary that follows a determined team of local and international researchers as they venture deep into the remote northern regions of Madagascar. Their mission is to study the last remnants of these rainforests and the fragile lives that depend on them. As they confront the realities of habitat destruction and the impending loss of species, this film captures the urgency and hope driving their work. Through their eyes, "Life on the Edge" reveals the delicate balance of survival in a world on the brink of irreversible change.
